Let us take you on a ride…towards a world of wondrous promise…
A cruising taxi cab in the city at night picks up a ride, a stranger on the run and, it appears, without a destination. They embark on a journey into a wondrous landscape where anything can happen.
The first part in a trilogy of Tales of Magical Realism, Joyride is film, live-performance and installation. Created by Sven Werner and with live music by Graeme Miller, Joyrideimmerses the curious in a hypnotic, mysterious and fantastic new world, a world where film comes to life and illusions awaken the imagination.

Contemporary works for solo cello are brought to life with light, visuals and the virtuosic playing of Oliver Coates. Crane’s Riamondas Rumsas, explores the rich, polyphonic sound of the curved bow, followed by two pieces by Larry Goves including a world premiere and silent film with electronics. This atmospheric evening comes to a climax with David Lang’s spellbinding World to Come, accompanied by hauntingly beautiful visuals, commissioned from the Irish video artist Jack Phelan.
